THE first residents to move onto Carrington Gardens say they are looking forward to enjoying a new way of life on the luxury development.

Victor and Patricia Bates were the first to be given the keys to their new home on the Humberston scheme, which is exclusively for the over-55s and situated close to the coastal resort of Cleethorpes.

Their new, two-bedroomed detached home, which is especially designed to be low-maintenance and requiring minimal upkeep, was the perfect option for the couple after they decided to make the move from their home of 18 years in Sutton-on-Sea.

Victor, 74, explained: “We made the decision to start looking for a new place to live when the upkeep of our previous home became a little bit too much for us.

“We had a three-bedroom bungalow with a big rear garden and we found we were spending most of our time focusing on maintaining the house. By the time we had done everything we needed to do, we had little time and energy left to do any of the activities we wanted to do.

“The process to move into our new home was very straightforward. We found out about the development online, went for a viewing of the site and then put a reservation on one of the properties.

“We are both very, very happy with it. We’re in a beautiful bungalow with a big patio on the back – it’s perfect for us.

“This is a great location for us at our age and will give us the chance to enjoy the good company of our neighbours on the development.”
