Watermead Court
Keystone Developments flagship scheme was designed and built in partnership with established homebuilders Westleigh in August 2005. A new development of 39 one and two bedroom apartments were built to meet the growing needs of the over 55’s.
Thoughtful Design
The development boasts a range of features to help each resident to feel at home, a spacious Residents’ Lounge, complete with sofas, chairs and tables, where residents can socialise if they fancy a bit of company, a communal area known as the Activities Room where residents can hold events and learn new skills, a guest suite which friends and relatives can use when visiting a resident and a quiet reading area, situated on the elegant balcony overlooking the Residents’ Lounge. In addition, Watermead Court also features a laundry room, a lift to all floors and a wheelchair and scooter store with a charging facility.
“I’ve only been here a couple of weeks and I already feel at home. The people are really friendly and Angie is so helpful.”
Security
Each apartment has been completed with a 24 hour emergency call system for extra peace of mind, whilst the development features security cameras, a single front entrance protected by an intercom system and an on-site Scheme Manager.
“The security was a selling point, we would have been nervous living in the middle of nowhere, you feel vulnerable as you get older.”
Location
Watermead Court is just a stone’s throw from Birstall, a self contained village with an impressive selection of shops, so residents can get out and about without having to walk too far or carry heavy shopping.
“We wanted to be able to walk to the shops. The best thing about this place is that all the amenities are on the doorstep. When we get to the stage where we can’t drive, we’ll still be able to get out.”
Success
Watermead Court was always going to be successful especially located in such a tranquil setting but with 24 of the apartments sold off-plan before the scheme had even opened it blew away all our expectations. The success of Watermead Court also led to the development of Keystone Developments second project Saddlers Court.
“Moving here I feel like I’m starting a whole new life at 82.”
“Now that I have so much more free time I’m learning to play the organ, I am really enjoying it. We sold all our old furniture and treated ourselves to new adjustamatic beds and posh furniture, it’s a fresh start.
